Introduction

I am the worst blogger ever and my excuse this time is that my life since my last blog has gotten much busier. (My last blog, for all you Kim Moy fans out there, was sort of a wah wah about my life, but since then I've chosen to embrace happiness and live in the present.) To give a quick update, since 2014 I got a new job and am in the final stages of purchasing a home with my new permanent roommate.

The goal of this blog is to describe (hopefully in an amusing way) the trials and tribulations of becoming an adult. I'd wish there was some sort how-to guide to life and while the Internet has vast resources, nothing really spoke to me. I hope that this blog becomes that guide. What else can you expect from this blog:

  • My memories - Everyone has a story to tell
  • Things I have figured out - or at least I suspect
  • Attempts at DIY - Hence the humor section
  • Things I attempted to cook - I promise I'll only post the good recipes
  • Product Reviews - Because I get lots of things for free when I do these

So what's with the boomerang? I am apart of the Boomerang Generation. In short, young adults who return home and stay home after graduating college are considered boomerangs. They leave the nest and then come right back. In my case, I graduated in 2008, when the economy was shit and could not get a paying job. My parents moved to Florida from New York and being unemployed, I decided to join them. Fast forward 6+ years and I am turning 30 years old and still live at home.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE living with my parents. I get free food, laundry, rent free, companionship, free cable with HBO, no taxes, free vacation, etc. This allowed me to use my meager wages for fun things like buying more food and going to an expensive gym. But all good things must come to an end and there comes a time when young dolphins must leave the pod. It's not easy and admittedly I feel a little behind on the game of life, but that game is just a social construct and I've always been marching to the beat of my own drum.
