when I thought OMG I'm buying a house.
Not a thing was packed. Not even a blouse.
My two forms of ID were placed in my purse with care.
In hopes that I wouldn't feel stress when I sign in that chair.
With my wire gone through, so massive and quick.
I knew in a moment I could be sick.
The moment had come to close on the house.
Don't be scared Kim. Have no doubt.
"Now sign here! Now initial here!
The paralegal shouts.
On Kimberly. On Johnny!
Keep signing. Be Quick!
Maybe for Christmas you'll get a dining room table from St. Nick.
From the top of the deed,
To the top of the mortgage.
Sign away! Sign away!
Sign away all!"
When the signing was done and the all cash exchanged.
We received our keys, like it was all prearranged.
Next thing we know, it was all said and done.
And the real estate agents surely had some fun.
As we left the closing as new home owners,
I made sure to ask if I could find some kind donors.
Instead they all laughed.
And as we left, I heard our real estate agent chaff:
"Happy home ownership to all. And to all a good life!"
