I have no idea what people did before Pinterest! After brainstorming and a breakfast kick off meeting, I decided to make breakfast sausage mummies. This recipe is a combination of the best of out there on the Internet. I decided a while back that as nice as it would be to create my own dough, etc. Ain't no body got time for that.
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
- Pre-cooked sausage (frozen) - any meat will do
- Crescent Roll dough
- Sriracha or ketchup
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Pre-heat oven to 350-degrees.
- Unroll the crescent dough and cut into long strips. I used a pizza cutter because again, no body got time for using a knife. If it helps you can put a little water on the cutter.
- Wrap each sausage up like a mummy. Use your finger to put a little place for the eyes.
- Place mummies in oven for 15-minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
- Let cool for a bit. Then use either Sriracha or ketchup to make two dots for the eyes.
This came out super cute. I had to make a lot of these sausage mummies so it took a long time to wrap them individually. I suspect that if you had to make just a few, it would be easier.
